In our district, we have accounts for students 2-12. However, students aren't able to send and receive messages until 5th grade. However, I love the idea of using their accounts for pen pals. I have sent sub plans through Gmail, scanned and sent notes to parents through Gmail also. This is very helpful for the kiddos that seem to "lose" papers from school to home!
