I've been using GMail for a while and after going through the tutorials, I realized I wasn't using many of the tools. I liked that you can use the translation feature to communicate with parents with little English ability. Throughout the semester, I like to send updates home for students who are not passing. Using the canned response features, I could create a template to use that could be modified for various student needs.
