I can definitely see where having all or most of the parents with gmail accounts would be a benefit to the classroom for communication.  Linking documents, calendars, pictures, and lessons being taught in the classroom could help get support from the families with their children. I agree; however I teach in an area where many parents don't even have Internet access. I find it so easy to email any concerns or answer questions. Unfortunately, many families cannot afford it.
