Gina Rogers - Goals

Gina Rogers
My goals are the following:

1.  Deepen my understanding of personalization and how it differs from differentiation and individualization.

2.  Deepen my understanding of how to incorporate personalization into professional learning for teachers.

3.  Begin to develop personalized learning plans to support professional learning for teachers.

Hi Gina,
I was reviewing everyone's goals and noticed that you are looking a personalizing PD. If you have time, I'd love to schedule some time to show you a few things about our teacher personalized learning system and show you some ways you could use it to personalize PD. If this is something you are interested in, please send me some times that would work for you.
Thanks,
Deborah

These goals make sense, and they give you a solid path forward. Understanding how personalization differs from differentiation and individualization is important, since people often mix those terms together. Personalization focuses on learner choice and agency, while the others focus more on teacher-driven adjustments.

Bringing personalization into professional learning can help teachers stay engaged, because it respects their experience and gives them room to set simple, meaningful targets. Starting early on personalized learning plans is a good move too, since it shows teachers what the process looks like in practice.
