As a High School Choir and Show Choir director, I send a lot of emails to mass amounts of groups of people. Whether it be parents, students, other directors, etc. having contact groups set up is a great way to be able to quickly send these emails. This eliminates having to type each name in individually.
Using Google Hangouts has also become quite popular at our school. We have utilized this for conferences and it was very convenient. It kept track of who had signed up for conferences, what time they were, organized it in my Google Calendar, and provided a link for me to just click to get into the conference. Google Hangouts was not something I had used before this year, but will be my new means of communication with parents.
