As the counselor, I do not have many email interactions with students. However, I do use Gmail regularly to collaborate with teachers, parents, administration and outside service providers. Beginning the course I had 6,287 emails in my inbox. I was able to use the course assignments to create labels and organize the emails that needed to be saved. I can also, now more efficiently locate conversations that have been labeled. I look forward to having a pared down inbox.
