I already use Google Chat with colleagues in the building, but it would be helpful to use it with my students as well to help them edit papers and answer questions they have if I am not right there to help them.
I set up contact groups for each of my language arts blocks and am able to email assignments and reminders that way so each class is covered. If I forget to mention something to one block, I can just email it to that one class and not every one of my students will get the message if they do not need it.
