Gmail in my Classroom

I have just set up a Gmail account, creating my signature and selecting which specific preferences.  I have a Google acct. set up through school and I do access Goggle docs when we are working on creating a new grading system. This course has offered great videos that have provided excellent and clear instruction!  I will be creating a parent/guardian group for sending a digital newsletter, reminders, and encouraging messages!  I intend to use the Calendar more completely for my personal and professional organizing of events, deadlines, and weekly scheduling.  I look forward to using the archive feature and labels as a way to keep important emails sorted and readily found when needed.  I am in the process of creating my contact list and having family and friends begin using this as my new email address. Our district has just purchased Chromebooks, which my peer teachers tell me will work great with Google!  I am looking forward to learning about this interactive device!
