Gmail in the Classroom

Gmail has many uses in the classroom and our school has been fortunate to have had this available to the staff and students for several years. I am a para educator in a Resource room at the elementary level and I would like to suggest to the lead teacher that maybe our 6th grade students could pen pal with some of the students at the junior high or even high school level to provide them with a way to ask questions of kids who have already made the transition to the other building in our district. In addition, I will continue to use Gmail to communicate with the teachers so that I know when students have upcoming tests or long term assignments due and I can mark that on my calendar for reminders.
