I have found that at the middle school level, students are very comfortable with using Gmail. I can be confident that I am able to send reminders to students, and they will know how to receive it and read it. Students will also use it to send me questions or concerns they have outside of school hours, and because I have Gmail on my phone, I am usually able to reply promptly. It is also a very helpful tool for communicating with my colleagues throughout the day and school year.
