I will be using Gmail in my classroom to communicate with coworkers about important things happening throughout our day. I will also use this to communicate daily events to parents in a timely manner and we will be able to communicate efficiently to help benefit a student's needs.
Using google Chat and Hangout will be another area that would help the communication between our Kindergarten Team. Being able to ask questions quickly and get a faster responses would be better use the planning time that we have. Using the Task list in Gmail will also make that planning time be used more efficiently.
We would also be able to take virtual field trips with the use of google Chat. For example, after reading a baseball story we could do a Google hangout or chat with a MLB or MiLB player to see how the story related to a real life player.
This would also be a excellent way to communicate with non-english speaking parents, which before now has been difficult.
