Using Gmail in the Classroom

I am a special education teacher at the high level and work with 9th-12th graders. I am in 4-5 regular education classes throughout the day. We are a one to one school with Mac Air laptops. Our students are very comfortable using their school email.  After watching the videos and reading the instructions, I was able to set up groups to email the students I work with in my regular education classes. Using the groups for emailing, review sheets, Quizlets, websites, dates for reviewing and testing will be much more efficient. In the regular education English classes I support, I facilitate all of the vocabulary studies so I am going to set up groups for each of the classes so it will be so much easier to contact all of the students in the class.

On a social note – we are having a baby shower for one of our staff and I can set up a group contact so I can email the shower invite. It is so easy to add and delete people in the group. I can print the list out so I can proofread to make sure everyone that needs to be included is on the list.
