Gmail in the classroom

I  can use Gmail when I need to keep in touch with the students when they are not in my classroom. For example, if I forgot to tell them about an assignment, or an announcement, I can send an email to let them know.

Have you found it helpful to send the students reminders of upcoming assignments?  It may be something I try.
