Gmail in the classroom

I must admit as a substitute teacher, going through some of the modules I found myself trying to see the relevance. Finally, after reviewing the tutorial on creating groups it clicked. In the past, for the teachers I often worked for I would communicate with them via email regarding lesson plans, etc. but I did not use my Gmail. On forward, I realize that I can use my Gmail to add within my contacts the info of teachers and principals I often work with. What is even more exciting for me is that I can actually group my contacts which will be helpful considering I work at multiple schools and with multiple age groups. I now am coming around to the idea that this class may be more beneficial than I initially thought. Using Gmail to communicate with the principals, school staff, and teachers is a step towards the professionalism and organization I would like to add to my Substitute Teacher Tool Kit.
