As a substitute teacher this will be helpful communicating with the teacher, administrators, as well as students. My own children use gmail all the time, but I never fully understood the efficiency of this program. It certainly makes updating students on assignments and/or test reminders easier. I also like the chat feature where students can ask you questions about things without disrupting the classroom or even if they are in a different class.
