I would like to try using the shared labels feature in gmail. I think this would be great for teachers, but as the technology teacher, I would use it for students to share emails with me directly to a label instead of me filtering them myself.
Another way gmail can be used in the classroom is teaching proper e-mail writing skills and have students practice writing an email to a teacher. Students need to know that there are times when you should not use abbreviations or slang and should use proper grammar.
