I think that using Gmail in the classroom just makes assigning home work and messages to several groups and parents very professional and it can be all done at once. It can be used to communicate with students and staff at any time of the day. Gmail can be used to submit assignments, saving on paper and also a time stamp. Gmail can be a useful tool to hold virtual discussions and Google docs are included with every account.
