I am still contemplating the use of gmail in the classroom as I switch to teaching students with more severe disabilities. I can use it to communicate better with the parents. It is still very confusing that my school district still uses another email program when we are encouraged to utilize Google in our classrooms. I like the idea from a previous teacher who said we could use the chat feature with colleagues.
