Since I teach high school students, I see many implications for using Gmail in my classroom. In my classroom, students are 1:1 with technology and will be using various applications in Google for their assignments and for communication. I have created labels in my email for each class period that I teach, and within those labels I am going to file emails that pertain to each class. This will allow me to organize the communication I get from parents or students that has to do with a particular class. I have already set it up so that some emails will automatically go into some folders, but I will have to move other emails manually. Either way I feel this will be a huge benefit. I will encourage my students to use gmail for communication about classes, so I have a record of communication and questions asked, instead of relying on my memory to account for conversations that were had.
