Gmail in the classroom

I have used gmail for a few years, and the district I primarily work in integrated their e-mail accounts with gmail last year.  As I am a substitute teacher I never considered how a classroom teacher could use the gmail Calendar and Task options until reading through these pages.  How great would it be to simply put all of your class assignments on a kids Calendar.  No more "I didn't realize when that was due" or "i didn't know we had to all of those problems."  You could also put the assignments in Tasks.  If a whole building used it a student would hardly have a need for a planner.

Great idea to use the calendar for the students.  A separate one could be used for each class taught.  The only issue with this is when the assignment changes.
