Our School District pays for Microsoft Office 365, so we are all used to using Outlook as our primary school email. This is for Faculty and staff only. We do not offer student email accounts, at least at the elementary where I work. I have a personal Gmail account and find that it is actually more user friendly than my Outlook account. I can now see how valuable of a tool this free Gmail service would be for teachers to communicate with students and parents. Posting assignments on the calendar and allowing for live chat sessions for students to ask questions would be very helpful.
