I am the tech director for the district.
1. I use gmail to communicate with my staff concerning problems with technology. I have two buildings so I have created two separate labels where I place emails which need to be addressed. The label allows me to discuss with the administration as to the problems which staff are encountering. It is also a quick way to show them how many requests there are.
2. I use gmail to communicate with students. This can be used for general tech send-outs or for one-to-one conversation about technology needs.
3. Chat is a great feature when a teacher needs something immediately - for example, their internet is down - someone is doing something against the rules on the network, etc.
