I think that Gmail is just a great way to store my communication I have with my first grade parents. I work at a private school. The parents are very involved. All of my students have access to technology, so parents can easily check their emails right on their phones. Through this means of communication, I have a record of how many times a parent was contacted. Sometimes as a teacher, you need evidence of having shared certain information with parents. I think I will start using the Label feature to help me organize parent emails.
