Google+ Communities

Actually this is the social media that is the most frustrating and complicated for me to get a handle on.  I am just not finding very many people on it and the communities I search do not have much information posted.  

Some that I have explored:  AEA PD Online; Education Revolution (but I have had to report inappropriate content); Science Teaching Resources; Substitute Teaching; Teachers Helping Teachers; Technology in Education

I can see a valuable use for Google Communities in my role as a high school counselor. I would create a community of Community Colleges that my students can explore and/or apply to. Google Community would allow them a one-stop resource for researching and comparing community colleges.

I think some of the issue would be keeping information in too many places. If I used Google Community, I would not use any other sort of engine to refer students to.
