I'm a substitute teacher now after retiring last year from the Industrial Technology field. I used to be very uncomfortable with emails and found them more a nuisance than a tool due to the difficulties of a closed system email provider through my community school. However, with the introduction of smart phones I decided to open a gmail account several years ago and now see it as an essential tool. I tend to use the "important" mail tabs and labeling feature to help organize all my messages. The customization of choosing a colored label also helps my eyes locate what I need more efficiently (as I am usually using my phone to correspond). My messages are now organized into correspondence with schools based on substituting, schools and athletic unions based on my sports officiating assignments, and finally personal emails.
