I think gmail in the classroom is a great way to keep things organized. It has the ability to have assignments and things turned in right there in gmail if you're using other google apps.
Along with that with the different features of folders and filters you could even separate some stuff into classes for multiple sections or assignments.
Great place to keep things organized and still do everything you want to be able to do using digital citizenship for both your students and their parents.
