I have had gmail for a great deal of time and feel like I have been missing out this whole time not digging into all of these cool features. I have used contacts before, but never created groups. Being a classroom teacher that is so cool to be able to just put all of the parents emails into a group and then I am able to send them all a message at the same time without having to remember every parent's email address. I love the signature feature. I was a classroom teacher last year, but this year I have switched to a special education teacher. I can put right in my signature that I am the special education teacher and the grade levels so there is no confusion when I am email teachers from the other buildings within my district. I am a very organized person so I have loved the idea of using labels, however I didn't know I could change the colors, wow! That makes it so much more appealing to the eyes! Also, along with that I love the archive feature so I can tag the emails with labels and then move them out of my inbox without actually getting rid of them. When I would put them in folders I would forget where I put them. So, when I archive I will be able to go back to all mail and search and still find my emails!! Another cool feature I am finally getting acquainted with because of this class is google hangout. I have done a few video chats for meetings and such, but never really used the chat feature. Being a special Ed teacher it will be nice to have this feature to be able to chat with the homeroom teachers if I have a quick question. Instead of filling their inbox up with an email I can just shoot them a quick chat. The last thing that I will say is I LOVE the notes feature! I am totally a note gal, I write sticky notes everywhere. I found sticky notes on my computer desktop a while back, but find that I always have my internet browser up so I forget to look at them. Well, here is my solution. I can write a note and it will stay on the side panel until I am done with it. Before I would send myself an email and leave it marked as unread until I completed it, this is much handier!
