Our school is a 1:1 school for grades 9-12 but all students in grades 4th through 12th have a Gmail account. One idea for using Gmail in the classroom would be for organizing class fields trips at the secondary level. Students can be organized into contact groups. Information such as trip details and departure times can be shared in an email. Important information can be attached directly to the email such as waiver forms, permission slips, and brochures on the trip. Students would then have access to these forms through their Google account. No more permission slips forgotten to be brought home.
