Google: Gmail

Our district went to google apps this year. Having used google apps on my home computer for the last few years it was not much of a shock to me as it was to others. Limiting this discussion to only gmail, I would say the best feature is the ability to create groups. It is far easier to e-mail 1 group than to have to type in multiple addresses. I also see a positive way to make use of the chat feature. We have seminar (structured study hall) daily. The students from my classes are not necessarily in my seminar. If they have questions they could just converse with me via chat without having to wander through the halls to come to my room. The chat feature reminds me of Instant Messaging back when AOL was the in-thing.
