I just started following Resources for Social Science Teachers. It seems like a worthy group/circle/whatever to follow. I did some investigating and I believe I will be able to find some great ideas for my classes. I also joined a group called - Iowa Social Studies Teachers Using Technology. This should be quite useful.
Overall, I was a little frustrated by some of the teacher groups that had political opinions and biases that I found disturbing. I believe that a learning community should be free of any type of political coercion. I have my American Government students find out where they stand on any issue without any other coercion from me. That is not my job. I only can direct them to find out what they believe.
