I was familiar with many of the different parts of Gmail, being a heavy Google user myself, but one new thing I thought would be especially helpful for some of my students is the Tasks feature which I didn't know existed. Many of my larger assignments, especially for upperclassmen, consist of multiple parts with different checkpoints or due dates. Occasionally these projects include a partner or group work. I can see Tasks being very useful for this kind of long-term work where there are many different moving parts and different group members in charge of completing different parts of the process. I will probably even begin using this myself to stay organized in my own professional work.
