I am also new to Google+ and have been searching around on it and really enjoy it.  
I have joined and found new communities that will be good for personal and professional use.
Fitness, Teachers Helping Teachers, Teaching Resources and Famous Quotes are a few Communities I have found.

I also found many friends on Google+ that I know will help me find even more great resources!
