I experienced a situation with inappropriate behavior on a computer a few weeks ago. I was subbing in a 6th grade Social Studies class and the students were to be doing research on a given topic.
I had a student who logged onto Google Translate. This student typed in sentences such as "You can't tell me what to do", and "I don't have to listen to you," and "you aren't my teacher."; then hit play each time so the class could hear what was typed.
This student thought it was funny; the rest of the class did not. I called the school counselor, who came in to get this student. I found out afterwards that this student was given tech violation and was not allowed on any technology at school until the second semester starts, which is January 16, 2018.
In this case, I believe that appropriate punishment was given. However, I do not know if this student will do something again. I hope not.
