Be very aware when talking to someone that when they messaged you it's not in a group chat. Someone messaged me one time and not realizing I was in a group chat and said something I was feeling about someone we mutually know, well needless to say I realized this person was a part of the group and I wanted to keep my feeling statement private.
This reminds me of when email was still kind of new to me. I was responding to a teacher that had responded to a parent and was not very professional. I was really embarrassed and scared that I had replied to the teacher, thinking it was only him, and then thinking it had gone to the parent as well. I am grateful that it did not end up like that, but since then I have learned to be more professional.
