Inappropriate Usage Social Media

jeanlink
I have observed this  when my daughter posted a picture of herself at a New Years Eve party and she and all of the girls she was with were also underage and at the home of a policeman.  They had sparkling cider and she took a picture with the cider in champagne glasses.  She then posted this on social media and I was asked to make her take it down because it gave the appearance of drinking under age.  This could have been avoided by asking before she took the picture.

This is something I stress with my own kids and students.  You don't have to necessarily be doing something "wrong" for it to cause problems online.  We talk about "abstaining from the appearance of wrong-doing".
