Inappropriate Use Digital Media- Brittany Mullen

My younger cousin has learning disabilities and because of this she would be teased and tormented daily. Students would messaged her on social media telling her she was worthless and that she needed to end her life. Or make up horrible rumors about her.
This made her depressed and very withdrawn. To this day she has a really hard time making any friends in fear that they will treat her poorly.  

I honestly believe that being taught proper digital etiquette as well as real etiquette could maybe curved some of this bullying.

This is awful! I fear for my own children who grow up with technology. I know as an educator I plan to talk to my children about the rights and wrongs of the digital world. As a mother, I fear that these things will happen to my own children. Making and keeping friends is so much harder with social media.
