Inappropriate Use Digital Media

Jason Reyerson
A poorly worded email often leads to a misinterpretation of the feelings or the intent of the writer.  I am guilty of writing emails that are too brief and can cause concern for students and parents.  Over the years, I have gotten much better in my communication as I am now very conscious of the tone of my messages.

I often find myself thinking for a long time about my texts and emails because I do not want to convey unwanted feelings or views.  If it were a face to face conversation, it would be so much easier to exchanged ideas.

I totally agree with the writing of emails.  I sometimes reread emails before I send them.  In fact, I am almost ashamed of how many I have in the draft box because of the "tone" or the wording.  I have a friend I read them to sometimes before I send them to make sure that they sound right and aren't confrontational.
