Inappropriate Use Digital Media

I work at the HS and I see it all the time.  Kids taking pix of others smoking or drinking or doing other stupid things and then posting it to social media.  I try to have the conversation with the students to NEVER trust anyone and that these posts are out there FOREVER and someone will find out.  When they are taking videos vaping in the locker room and adding it to their "story"...someone will turn them in. Inappropriate pix will end up getting shared.  Someone that is 18 will end up with it and that will be considered child pornography and can get you put on the sex offender list.  I talk to students about these things daily and yet, they still do it because it "will never happen to them"....until it does!

I have seen this as well at the middle school level as well.  Students do not understand that taking pictures in bathrooms and locker rooms could get them in serious trouble.  They too think it will never happen to them, or nobody will ever turn them in.

card rummy provides an excellent opportunity to practice and develop strategic thinking and long-term planning. While the game may seem straightforward, winning consistently requires players to think several steps ahead and anticipate their opponents' moves. This requires considering not only one’s own cards but also predicting what cards are likely to be dealt or discarded, and how opponents might respond to specific plays. The ability to foresee potential outcomes and adjust one’s approach accordingly can transfer to other areas of life, whether it’s managing a project at work, planning a long-term financial investment, or even navigating complex social dynamics checkout this website for more. The level of planning required in rummy trains players to think critically, evaluate situations from multiple angles, and anticipate future events, making it a powerful tool for sharpening one’s overall problem-solving abilities.
