I have had students before that have been bullied online, unfortunately. They were very upset, and I was upset for them. The situation was reported, so I made sure to support the student in any way I could.
I think that many young students do not realize how much their words on social media or through a text may hurt someone as well as they do not realize the digital footprint they are leaving behind. I hope that with more education on cyberbullying, digital footprints, and the use of social media, we will see a decline in the number of people being cyber-bullied or using digital media inappropriately.
