My daughter and several of her friends have had inappropriate photos texted to them by an unknown number, who then wanted to start a conversations to get more information. The girls all blocked the phone number but were then concerned if it was a scam and if they could somehow access the location of the girls.
It makes be feel worried and somewhat helpless because I don't always know how to prevent things like this from happening. It helped me realize how important it is to have open communication with my kids and also conversations about what is safe/appropriate/inappropriate when it comes to digital media.
