Some might think I'm a crazy parent but I am always concerned about what people share about my kids on social media. I'm not a big fan of social media so I don't ever post anything about my kids (or anything really). However, my wife and I both have had issues with grandparents posting pictures of our children on various platforms of social media without our consent. Even after we've made our concerns known, they still would post pictures of our children because "other families do."
I feel this is a violation of our trust, but also a violation of my children's consent. They are not at an age or ability yet to understand that pictures or media of them on social media is basically a permanent record. I feel before pictures of my family are shared to the entire world, they should at least be able to understand and feel empowered about things they want to share or not share. Haven't decided what that age is yet..
