I think the only inappropriate usage of digital media that I have had to face are all the email and texting scams of trying to get your personal information by saying that your passwords have been compromised, or your apple account was having trouble processing a payment, etc. Some of those emails can look very fake, and then some of the emails can look very real. I've learned to just ignore and delete.
A few years ago, my husband was searching for a new internet router for our home. Of course, as we all know, smart phones listen to what you're talking about and keep track of what you're searching - and you start to see all of the ads for that on social media. As he was scrolling through facebook, he saw a pretty good deal on a router from a well known site. He clicked on the link, ordered the router, and waited for an email of purchase. That email never came. So he tried to find the website again on what he ordered and it took him a while to back track to find the exact website he was on because the link was already gone and changed on facebook about it. Long story short - it was a scam.
