I try to use the idea that if I would not say what I want to say to the person's face I should not type it - whether it be an email or on a social media site. Also, if I would be uncomfortable with my parents or grandparents seeing a post or picture then it shouldn't be posted. I think this has helped me keep my digital media use appropriate. However, we are all human and mistakes do happen. After reading the post from Mitch I am also guilty of sending an email that could have been interpreted differently than I had intended it to be.
