I have personally witnessed major misunderstandings with forms of social media. I have seen adults act on impulse and frustration and post something that they might regret later. This unfortunately is not a great model of how this form of technology can be used well. The same goes for instances that I've seen through e-mail and text messages when the tone is misinterpreted and feelings are hurt.
