Inappropriate Use Digital Media

As a parent, I received an email from one of my children's coaches with some important information about an upcoming event.  However, my email address was added along with some other parents' email addresses to a previous email exchange instead of starting a new email.  The problem with this was that a very lengthy previous email exchange was included that was a private email exchange between another parent and the coach in regards to that other parent's child/athlete.  I notified the parent to let them know what I was able to read and obviously the parent was very upset with the breach in privacy by the coach.  The parent did contact the coach to express their feelings.  I felt bad for both the coach and the parent whose privacy had been breached but I was also glad that I had seen the previously emails as it shed some light on some other issues I had been wondering about.  I was able to have a very good conversation with the parent involved in this as we inadvertently discovered we had some of the same questions or concerns discussed in the previously email exchange I could see.
