I see inappropriate use of social media almost daily on Facebook. People have their right to free speech but it has turned into publically shaming individuals because opinions are different on a topic. People use obscene language in their posts and it's really getting out of control. What is so disturbing, is its not just students doing this, but adults too. Adults need to lead by example, and unfortunately bad examples are being set for our children.
As an educator, my profile is private and I am always certain to keep my opinions to myself on some big topics that always seem to pop up on social media.
