In one of my first jobs my boss accidentally sent out an email to "all staff" telling about how well her interview went the previous week. She intended for the email to go out to a friend, but hit the wrong recipient. Needless to say, we as the staff were shocked to hear this news. None of us knew she was thinking of leaving. It was shocking for us, but it put her in a very tight spot. She had to explain to us about her thoughts on leaving and to the school board about her job search. She ended up getting the new job and leaving our school. This taught me a valuable lesson about always checking to make sure who you are sending an email to and also never to send personal correspondences through work email.
