We had an instance on email, when we were business partners with a couple who we are very good friends with. We sent them an email regarding buying them out on their half of a condominium that we owned together. We sent them what we thought was a fair price etc. and one of the partners was insulted by this offer, and her partner wrote us back and let us know. We immediately called them and met in person, rather than respond by email. It did put tension on our relationship, for awhile after. After this incident, we meet face to face, or by phone, rather than correspond by email in regards to business and personal instances.
