It seems every few years or so, sometimes more often, a news story circulates regarding an educator and inappropriate use of technology. As educators, we are all aware of the public higher standard that is placed on us and the profession and within this technological era this hasn't changed. One particular story comes to mind of a female educator who attempted to send a private photo to a friend and ended up sending it to her entire class. The fallout that ensued included public humiliation as well as career ramifications. Just thinking of her situation makes me cringe as I think of the detriments from both her point of view but more importantly, her students'. They should never have seen what they did, but unfortunately the damage had been done whether the teacher had meant to send that photo or not.
