I was a participant in a professional team meeting once where Google Docs was being used to house the meeting agenda and capture notes as well as action steps. Suddenly I saw the chat pop up and a couple of people posting inappropriate comments about how boring the meeting was, how stupid some of the comments were, and what their plans were for a happy hour that was going to start right after the meeting ending. Our meeting was ending at noon.
I chatted that we could all see their comments and they needed to stop and consider apologizing for their inappropriate comments but by that time our supervisor had seen their posts. To her credit, she used this incident as a learning opportunity to talk about profession behavior and online etiquette.
